Dear Eldora Community,
As the recent dustings of snow on the Continental Divide just west of Eldora have reminded us, it won’t be long before we can get back to doing what we love—skiing and riding! Now more than ever, we look forward to reconnecting on the slopes.
Eldora’s Passholder Promise Expands to Include COVID-19-related Interruption Coverage for Season and Multi-Day Passholders
NEDERLAND, Colo., June 30, 2020 – Eldora, the backyard winter playground for Boulder County and Colorado’s Front Range, today announced In-Season COVID-19 Coverage as a new addition to its Passholder Promise. Eldora launched its Passholder Promise in April to address the impact of COVID-19 on the 2019/20 season and provide assurances for the 2020/21 season.
The events of recent days and weeks have pushed deep-seated social issues to the front of our consciousness. In a world already turned upside-down by a global health and economic crisis, we are horrified and distraught by the social injustices we've witnessed. We stand with Black Lives Matter. Discrimination, racism, and brutality are unacceptable. They have no place anywhere in our world.
NEDERLAND, Colo., June 8, 2020 – Eldora, the backyard winter playground for Boulder County and Colorado’s Front Range, today announced "Play It Forward", a newly launched employee and community-centric philanthropic platform designed to support the local community during COVID-19 and beyond.
For the health and safety of our employees, guests and community, Eldora closed for the 2019/20 season earlier than anticipated. When this happened, we were left with massive amounts of food that had been planned to feed hungry guests. Instead of letting the food go to waste, the Eldora team donated that food to local nonprofits including the Longmont Food Bank and the Nederland Food Pantry to support those in need.
There are lots of connections between a resort ski patrol and the local medical community, and the staff here at Eldora wanted to help our own in this time of crisis. So in April, our patrollers went to work gathering PPE donations, including masks and buffs, for first responders in the Boulder County Sheriff’s Department, local healthcare workers, and additional media partners. All-in-all more than 300 pieces of protective gear were collected.
Former Eldora ski patroller and current mountain safety team member Scot Gorbet is a registered respiratory therapist at Colorado’s Boulder Community Hospital. Until the COVID-19 outbreak, not many people had heard about respiratory therapists. Now, says Gorbet, they’re in the spotlight.
NEDERLAND, Colo. – Eldora, the backyard winter playground for Boulder County and beyond, has recently been recognized by ski-industry trade groups for its achievements in two key areas: climate impact and terrain-park excellence.

Now that spring weather is finally here, it's a good time for us all to reflect on how incredible of a season we had, especially considering the unique challenges we faced coming into this winter.
