Eldora Patrol Tryouts

Think you've got what it takes to be an Eldora patroller? We're looking for a few good skiers and riders to join the Eldora Ski Patrol next season, as both paid and volunteer patrollers.

To attend a tryout, please meet in the West Wing building at Eldora Mountain Resort at 8:00 AM on one of the tryout dates. Please bring all of your equipment and pack a lunch. If you do not have a season pass, a lift ticket will be provided.

What are the primary responsibilities?
Our first priority is responding to emergencies. We aim to respond quickly to any injury on the mountain. Our next priority is providing service to our guests by promoting safety and accident prevention all around the mountain.

From Eldora to Qinghai Province

In September 2017, Eldora ski patroller Jessica Keil and a climbing partner traveled to the remote mountain range of Nyainbo Yuze in China’s Qinghai province to embark on an ambitious alpine-climbing expedition. After entering the range on September 29th, Jessica and her partner needed to decide between three valleys to make home for the next few weeks. They decided to head to the northernmost part of the range, to a valley not yet visited by climbers, and set up a camp at 4,300 meters.

IKON PASS JOINS FORCES WITH PROTECT OUR WINTERS

DENVER, CO, February 15, 2018 - The Ikon Pass, a new ski and snowboard pass product from Alterra Mountain Company, has partnered with Protect Our Winters (POW) to further climate change education and advocacy through a three-level $50k partnership: the creation of the Ikon Pass Fund, a Summit Level donation, and a complimentary one-year Protect Our Winters membership to each Ikon Pass holder for the 2018-2019 winter season.
