On Saturday, December 22nd, Eldora was honored to host an intertribal, intertraditional blessing and gratitude ceremony by an indigenous group representing Aztec, Lakota, Apache, and Hopi peoples and traditions. Together, with more than 100 guests, they performed a prayer for the mountains, snow, water, and earth. Through the ceremony, we all expressed gratitude for the abundant snowfall Eldora has seen so far this winter.
Before and afterward, we hit the slopes with our new friends and shared in the joy of the simple pleasure of sliding on snow. For some, including eight-year-old Sochi, it was the first time skiing.
It was truly an amazing day.
