Nederland, Colorado, Dec. 15, 2020 – Eldora, the backyard winter playground for Colorado’s Northern Front Range, is today announcing the Play It Forward Challenge, a donation-match challenge to support local families and individuals in the greater Boulder County area with food and living assistance during this time of great need.
For a month between December 15, 2020, and January 15, 2021, Eldora will match every dollar donated to the Eldora Play It Forward philanthropic fund up to $10,000. All funds raised during this period will be given to the Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA) and the Nederland Food Pantry (NFP).
“The Emergency Family Assistance Association and the Nederland Food Pantry are facing heavy demands right now as families cope with difficulties brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Brent Tregaskis, Eldora’s president and general manager. “We at Eldora are so proud to be a part of such a vibrant local community and we are inviting everyone to join Eldora in supporting the ability of EFAA and NFP to provide basic-needs assistance to those in our community who need it most. Please help us make an impact by donating to Eldora’s Play It Forward Challenge today.”
How to Donate: All donations are tax deductible and those received between December 15, 2020, and January 15, 2021 will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $10,000. Donations should be made directly to the Eldora Play it Forward Fund, a philanthropic fund administered for Eldora by Community Foundation Boulder County. All funds raised during the Play It Forward Challenge will be given to the Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA) and the Nederland Food Pantry (NFP) to assist local families with food and basic needs.
The Emergency Family Assistance Association addresses the immediate needs of those in financial crisis, helping them avert homelessness and hunger with food from their food bank; direct financial assistance for rent, utilities, transportation, and minor medical needs; strengths-based case management and referrals to outside resources; and on-site mental health and nutritional counseling. The Nederland Food Pantry’s mission is to relieve hunger and provide basic needs and support to the Peak-to-Peak Community in a respectful and compassionate manner. Learn more at nederlandfoodpantry.org.
